Background of the Study
Student records management is a vital aspect of university administration, as it involves the storage and retrieval of important academic and personal data. Traditional student records management systems, which are often paper-based or rely on centralized databases, face several challenges related to data security, accessibility, and reliability. Federal University, Lafia, like many universities in Nigeria, experiences difficulties in securely storing and managing student records, particularly with the growing volume of students and the need for efficient data access.
Blockchain technology offers a solution to these challenges by providing a secure and transparent method of storing student records. A blockchain-based student records management system ensures that data is immutable, tamper-proof, and easily accessible to authorized users.
